Cirrex invents, develops, and licenses photonic technologies enabling instrumentation, communications and healthcare. Our technologies leverage almost $20 million in venture capital from Lucent and other institutional investors.
Under our original corporate structure, Visionex, Inc., we invented integrated optics technologies having multi-industry applications and receiving substantial international recognition and awards.
Companies having purchased instrumentation products incorporating these technologies include:
- Johnson & Johnson Lifescan,
- Johnson & Johnson Ethicon
- Glaxo Wellcome
- ABB and
Research institutions that have utilized the products for medical applications include:
- Ontario Cancer Institute
- Cleveland Clinic
- National Institutes of Health
- U.S. Department of Energy at Oak Ridge and
- NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratories.
We secured venture financing to create a new class of optical communications products based on our photonic technology, and our company became known as Cirrex, Corp. In the wake of the Internet Bubble, the company’s founders and financiers negotiated control of the technology and associated intellectual properties through an entity called Graywire, LLC, renamed Cirrex Systems LLC.
